Andrea and Martin Kay are delighted to invite guests to stay at Bay Rose House, a 19th century English country cottage providing bed and breakfast accommodation in Cheddar, Somerset, UK - an ideal place to escape from the stresses and strains of everyday life.

We offer a personal service in the comfortable, friendly environment of a small family home set in one of the most beautiful areas of the English countryside.

In addition to a warm welcome, we are pleased to cater for everyone’s dietary taste and needs ~ from organic, vegetarian, vegan and special diets to those desiring a full English breakfast. Our food features homemade, local, organic and free trade supplies.  At Bay Rose, we want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome.

We are also open for non-resident breakfasts, space permitting - so if you are in the area, a local resident or visiting friends, to book in for the following morning, please call after 7pm to arrange a convenient time. You will find full pricing and information on our website.

Bay Rose is licensed for resident’s convenience and an opportunity to try our range of ale, wine and cider from local West Country producers.

The Bradford Place Inn was built in 1889 as a private home for a Wells Fargo agent and remained so until 1988 when it first opened as a bed and breakfast inn.  In March 2000 it was christened Bradford Place Inn and Gardens when it reopened under the ownership of Dottie Musser. 

In an ideal location right in the heart of historic downtown Sonora, next door to the county offices and impressive court house, circa 1898 you are minutes away from the wide variety of offerings here in the very heart of California’s Gold Country. Its lovely restored neighbourhood is one block west of Sonora's popular main street (Highway 49) lined with antique stores, art galleries and wonderful dining. The inn is also close to the gold rush villages of Columbia and Jamestown, about a twenty minute drive to the wineries, caverns and shops in and around Murphys and Angels Camp.  Depending upon the weather and time of year, your choice of activities also include options such as a round of golf at one of three local championship courses, sailing on Pinecrest Lake as well as enjoying the perfect setting for a picnic or hiking.

Bradford Place Inn and Gardens has been restored with meticulous care and attention to detail. Accommodations vary in size from cozy and intimate to gracious and luxurious with nearly every imaginable amenity, including a private climate control system in each guest room. If you cannot bear to tear yourself away from the comfort of your own room, Dottie is pleased to have your breakfast delivered to you. You may prefer to enjoy your selections from the extensive and diverse menu in the inn’s lovely breakfast room, or dine alfresco in warmer weather. The choice is yours.

Colliers Hill is a beautifully restored Georgian farmhouse that has been sympathetically renovated as a conference centre and guest house. It features three double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, as well as conference and workshop facilities.

The bed and breakfast accommodations are spacious and elegantly furnished, decorated in keeping with the style of the house. All have beautiful countryside/panoramic views.

The extensive gardens, with breath-taking views over three counties, complete the charm of Colliers Hill. Relax and enjoy a champagne lunch under the trees while admiring the view from the garden or stay and experience one of the Shakespeare events, a particular passion of the owner, Jackie Miller who is currently studying for an MA in Shakespeare & The Theatre at the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford.

Innkeepers Frank and Julie Hanes purchased the historic Inn at Manchester in Vermont in December 2003. Discover its long and intriguing history on their website. The Inn offers 18 guestrooms, including 5 suites, spanning three floors of the main building as well as the historic Carriage House. The Rokeby Guest House is a beautiful, elegant, nostalgic Edwardian home of "Upstairs Downstairs" type offering warm family hospitality by the resident proprietors, Karen and Mark Rogers, who strive to give the sort of personal attention which inevitably creates a friendly atmosphere.

It is set in half an acre of landscaped gardens, with ornamental fishpond, water lilies and fountain, leisure furniture and barbeque for 'al fresco' dining.

The Royal Oak has been the heart of the village of Bishopstone since c1650 and parts of the building can be dated back to that era. Eastbrook Farm, home of Helen Browning Organics, has comprised the organic farmland to the north and south of the village for the past 20 years.

The Royal Oak is perfect for social drinks, freshly prepared homecooked food and cosy bed and breakfast accommodation. To ensure a peaceful and private stay for our customers, our rooms are set away from the bar and cannot be accessed through the bar.

Located 6 miles from Swindon, the pub is a favourite both with Swindon residents exploring the surrounding countryside or by walkers taking a detour from the nearby Ridgeway path.

It was at The Wheatsheaf in 1941 that James Herriot and his wife Helen spent their honeymoon. In his book he describes how much they enjoyed the warm hospitality and excellent food. Perhaps our best kept secret is the stay of Greta Garbo in early 1942 during a break from performances at nearby Catterick Garrison.
